Cam recommendation for a 6.0L in a OBS Tahoe
I currently have a 06 LQ4 that I'm gathering parts for to swap into my 1999 2dr Tahoe. I'm trying to find out what cam will best suit my truck. I want the idle to be tame and want to have some low end torque to get my heavy tahoe moving.
Truck specs:
- 4wd 2dr Tahoe weighs 5500lbs with me in it (Gen1 350 and all the intercooled whipple crap, iron heads, cast iron marine intake manifold) I should lose some weight with the new engine.
- 4.10 gears
- 29" tires
- 2800 rpm PI converter
- 3" dual x-piped exhaust
- will have stock manifolds (for now)
- Wont see any towing
Once I get the engine in and all the bugs worked out, I'm planning on swapping on some LTs and some 243 heads to bump the compression.
I was considering the TR224 (shown to have great results) but want to see what else you guys recommend.

Did u ever finish this build? I've got a blazer & a tahoe! The blazer is for sale but if someone doesn't buy it soon I was thinking of doing the same thing 2 it r the tahoe! I just know these things would haul *** with a 6.0L!
