Default Cam shopping again

I know ... I'm sure the cam questions are getting old, but here's another one.

How would a 224/230 run in a 5.3? Think it would be to much? It's blown .. so keep in mind that overlap is an issue.

I think I remember RanWalk using it, but that was on either a 6 or a 402 or something considerably bigger than a lowly 5.3.

Any opinions or advice? I'm just not sure if I want to go that big or not.

Get Compcams to do you a custom grind using XE-R lobes with a 220/228 .581/.588 on a 114 or 115 LSA.That should wake up things with the 5.3 just set your shift points about 6800rpm and keep your same supercharger pulley.

I'm still running a 3.4 inch pulley.

That's a huge split! Did I mention I'm trying to get some heads for this beast too. Some 6.0 heads with mild p&p on them.

You will need a 113 115 lsa. You will have to pull out cam cards to get the lowest overlap or will have to degree it. If you are looking at a cam card just add the two top numbers on the diagram and that will give you your overlap. Good luck.
