As you can also see it's in a 6.0.i bought the cam used and went with new LS6 early "blue springs" the motor has been in there over 2 years & lots of miles and maybe an average of 20-30 WOT blasts per fill up.Everything have been flawless from bumper to bumper. The valvetrain in more quiet than the 5.3 was,I think because I shaved .020 off the heads which tightened up the valve lash.It has a lobe to it,and it will be more pronounced with a 5.3 it will lope more and make more emmisions which could cause you to not pass smog.If i were to do mine over again I would go with more lift, something like 220/550 114LC and LS6 yellow springs. We have no testing were I live. What I would recommend you do is save your dough and find a good take out 5.7 LS1 longblock slip that in with a either a early LS6 cam or a custom grind like a 208/214 550 114-115LC with LS6 springs. And a good tune and it should pass DEQ and haul ***.To try and answer your question
Yes it makes great power,I did have to raise the idle, you need to ask around to see if anyone has passed smog in a 5.3 with this cam.
