I kinda want to do a cam swap in my 5.3, I'm doing long tubes, ory, cai, exhaust and tune, but would ls6 can wake it up even more? Its my dd for now and just wanna squeeze a little more out of it, and I hear on here that it's a good friendly cam, just wondering want your opinions are on this, thanks

Will not be that hard to hit 12's in a light s10 with a 5.3L.

I would probably get the 220/220 cam, 3400rpm torque converter in a 10.5" or so, and it will still be very streetable.

Not hard to get low low 12's in a 5.3L S-10, 220/220 cam, LT headers, Tune, light head work or get new heads all together and up the compression ratio, and a 3600rpm torque converter.. A TBSS intake manifold would help out too..

You will meet the 12's goal in the S-10, all you would probably need is a 220/220 cam, LT headers, Tune, 3600rpm converter and maybe a built trans later on. The S-10 is so light so the goal is not out of the question.

Don't feel afraid of a 3600rpm converter. Numerous guys have 3600RPM or a tad higher converter in a LSX swapped S-10 with it cammed and are still getting 20-25MPG..

I did a TSP 228 cam and a circle d tweaked trailblazer converter in my 6.0 powered sonoma. WOW day and night difference I did the cam and converter at the same time so it's hard to tell what made the most difference.

But way more fun than the LS6 cam. With a stock converter and LS6 cam it ran good but it was doggy off the light and had to wind the **** out of it before it would really wake up. With the new combo it has a nice chop and it's responsive as soon as you it. And I didn't lose a bit off of my 25MPG out on the highway I was making with the LS6 and stock converter combo.
