Default Cam Swap Suggestions? 234 234 598 598 112

I'm looking at a Futral F14 234 234 598 598 112 for my 5.3. My current cam isnt quite cutting it. Not giving me the sound or performance I would like. I plan on doing a 3000ish stall and heads and intake later. I drive the truck a lot except for when it rains and I want a rough idle so it'll sound mean. Ive got full exhaust and CAI. Would this cam work? Or go more or less?

Either go less or go really big on the stall and gears, increase the compression ratio, and add ARP rod bolts.

Why smaller? What cam? I looked at the power range of the cam and its a bit on the high side. I'm thinking a 230 230 595 595 112 Builds power from 2500 to 6800 it would be better.

that would be a dog in a ext cab 5.3 with a 3000 converter. IMO a 220 to 224 would be perfect on a 112lsa.

I have a 208 212 554 558 115 LSA . So dlt76028 the power range of the cam is too high? Too much duration? I can go bigger on the stall I just want to keep it street-able.

Weight comes in to play too, so Is there not enough bottom end power to lug the truck around at low speeds? Beatdown Z also said to go with a smaller cam too. I just haven't gotten a solid answer on why smaller. I just want an idea of what works well with these trucks and why?

I can go bigger on the stall but would still like to keep it street-able.

Your gonna lose streetability with anything over a mid 220's duration in a stock 5.3. Sound is dependent on the LSA of the cam, your gonna want something on a 112 LSA to give you that chop. If it's your daily I wouldn't go bigger than a TSP 224. The TSP 220 is a proven cam for the 5.3. We put one in my bro's ecsb and it runs good, and he's still on the stock converter too. A 3000 stall would be ideal for that cam, you would probably want closer to a 3600 if you chose the 224. If you want to hear what they sound like youtube it there are tons of idle clips.

Ok I'll check those out. Thanks for the suggestions. Would you run bigger injectors with a tsp224?

Anyone else?

Ok its kind of a toss up between these cams with very similiar specs.
TSP 224/224 581/581 112LSA
TR 224/224 561/561 112LSA
VRX2 224/228 582/588 112LSA

I'm guessing the VRX2 from Vengeance is a little on the high side as far duration. Does lift difference between the the cams really make much of a difference?

Which one would you go with?
