On my LT1(know it was a car and not a truck) I had a 236/242dur .578/.596 lift on a 111 lobe sep and it was just about perfect I know I probably can't get away with one quite that big, but I would like to know if anyone on a truck is using one even close to that size with stock intake manifold, and heads.

There was a thread started here where car craft installed a huge LPE cam in a 5.3L w/ headers. Made 100hp in the upper rpm, but lost as much as 50 down low. Your upper tq numbers past 5250rpm will start to drop off extremely with a large cam. The one cam had 229/242 duration at .050. This sent peak hp to 6800rpm.
That is what you would call "overcammed"
I'd really be interested in seeing a 5.3 motor spun to 6800rpm w/ a lsx intake, large cam on a very tight lobe seperation angle, cleaned up the heads and maybe a 4000 stall converter w/ a 2.5str
Thats whats cool about custom ground camshafts. You can get them to do what you want for the most part w/o loosing the 50hp like the lpe cam did.

i like the way my cam is pulling. i have the 2500 stall. 216-220-525-532-114. i put on 1.85 rockers. i figured the lift to be =571.3 and 578.1. not sure how that affects duration. anyone know on the duration????
