Default cam timing - 1 tooth = how many degrees?

i was setting up to check P2V on my LS2 and decided to check the degree on my cam for the hell of it. it came out to 100. i dont have my cam card in front of me but it should be 106 to 110 area....the cam is a howards 236/242 .612/.612 110 LSA. i dont know if it has any advance ground into it but i know 100 is not right. the cam is sitting dot to dot. how much degree change should I see by moving it over 1 tooth?

Intake center line shows 106 on howards web site.

I would still look for the actual cam card to make sure you got the right cam.

so what should i do? i never used to check the timing on cams. i will for now on lol. i found the cam on howard's website and it has 4* of advance ground in so it should be sitting on a 106 icl. i'm getting 100. shitty luck! why couldnt i figure this out before buying a new OEM cam gear? now i need to find an adjustable setup.

I just counted the teeth on the big gear and there is 44. So that means there is 22 on the bottom gear. So one tooth on the top should be 8.18* (360/44=8.18) and one tooth on the bottom would be double that of 16.36*

you're awesome kyle. so i either need to set it to a 108 icl and live with it, or get an adjustable timing setup and get it to 106 where it belongs. i'm going to be pissed if i buy an adjustable timing setup and then end up having to cut my pistons becaus this cam doesnt fit. it is my luck lately.

anyone know which direction i should move the cam gear to advance it that 8*?

ugh. my first attempt to move only the cam gear 1 tooth was a failure. something on the crank gear must have moved. i'm back dot to dot and reading 100. guna give it 1 more shot.
