Not saying that the crane power tuner is a bad product, it actually looks like a lot of r&d went into it. But for the money, ~400 dollars, i could get a nelson tune that would allow tuning of many more parameters that the crane cannot do.

I drove my truck for a year with that cam and no tuning at all. I had to drill the tb out a little to get it to idle right. When I installed the 6.0L with this cam I adjusted the TB screw. If you adjust the screw you have to reset the TP% to 0 or it won't return to idle.
Here is how to adjust the TB screw

I am an ASE master tech and also an advanced level specialist and I will be the first to admit that certifications alone doesn't make a person a great mechanic. I think that cam will be fine for you on the stock tune, you might have minor idle issues like dying once in a while, but with a tune you will be fine for sure.

It allows the use of higher flow injectors up to 120% larger than stock. It compensates for tire sizes in 1/4 inch increments. You can increase idle speed in 50 rpm increments up to 300rpm over stock. (No need to drill holes in the throttle plates). You can shift the advance curves + or - 10% to compensate for exhaust restriction. It can be tuned for regular, mid grade or premium fuel. It allows shift point change and shift firmness change. No matter what sequence of key strokes you use, you can't screw anything up. It's a great tool for a lot of people who don't have access to a competent tuner or who don't want to spend the money on a custom tune. It is an extremely competent product for it's intended application. All I'm saying is don't bad mouth a product or someones work when you don't know anything about it!

An expert with a dyno might get 2 or 3 extra HP on a given day, but I doubt his tune would be any better over a wide range of atmospheric conditions. But then what do I know. I have only built a carburetor that won the Daytona 500 once and I've had several national record holding fuel systems in NHRA including PRO Stock. What would I know!!!
