I've got the same truck as you! I did a gear swap to 3:73 with stock tires it done a lot better! Still was downshifting pulling a car on a hauler but @ less 75% better! Just a gear swap will make a big differents IMO! The cam I got made 306rwhp/298rwtq in a 4.8, just what I've been told!

Thats good to know. I have 4.10s on the way, should be a nice improvement over 3.42s. What did you have stock?

hmm i wasnt aware they changed the heads, i thought all 4.8's had the 243 casting head on em. stock compression cant be more than 9-9.5 and believe it or not a nnbs reg cab is prob just as heavy as a nbs ex cab. maybe a LITTLE lighter but not buy much (at least i dont think) but dont get me wrong im not pickin on your choices or anything, im just trying to clarify for future modders lookin for a cam for there 4.8. i just dont see why everyone recommends the tiny cams for em. on a side not your gunna LOVE those
4.10's!

They started putting 243 heads on the 07+ nnbs. Before that is the old 862 or 706.

Was your 210/216 grind an off-the-shelf variety or a custom grind? It sounds like a real winner for a daily driven 4.8, especially since I'm a rcsb.

It was custom. You can create your own on speed engineerings website or tsp.
