Newer 07 and up 4.8's do not have higher compression than the 99-07 4.8 motors. GM dropped the cr from 9.5 to 9.1

it's very important to use a higher axel like 3.73 or 4.10 and stall, you will loose torque from down low, that's why a higher axel and stall. Remember these 4.8 loves rpm's a good tune will let you spin this little. I'm not sure the chamber cc of 243 heads, my 2000 4.8 silv, has 61cc heads I milled .025 now 57cc port and polish 2 angle valve job, the sound change dramatically and the exaust don't lie. 3" exaust, headers, remember this, Dr. Jeckill and Mr. Hide!!! that's how your truck will behave.

Do it and enjoy!! the compression now 10.49:1 , 93 octane gas runs perfect,in a 26 gallon tank 1 gal of c12
gas just for play. umm love the smell of kick ***!!
