I've had experience now with two different 6.0L's. One in a 2005 4wd Sierra 1500HD lifted up real tall and another in a 2004 Silverado 2wd, stock height. I find no coincidence at all that both cams are custom ground from two completely different perspectives, yet both cams come out basically the same. That alone tells me what the 6.0L should be sitting with as far as cams go since both custom grinds were made to do basically the same thing; have power EVERYWHERE from idle on up to 6500, idle smooth and consistent, work with the stock converter and drivetrain components to make a no-compromise camshaft for the money spent.

Guess what? They're both 218/224's.

Edit: One's on a 112 LSA, the other a 114 LSA.

I dont have a 6.0 but I have a couple friends with some, the best cam I've seen on a 6.0 is the MS3, all run it with convertors 3600-4000... and all have seen low 12s all-motor.

I have the 218/224 in my 6L - Mine has a 114 LSA. Power is good everywhere, idle is a tad too rough for my liking. I'm the **** bastard on this board anyways. I'm starting to already get annoyed with the lack of low end putting power of the 6.0L in neighborhoods or chugging around. Power above 2500 RPM's is good, anything under is kind of annoying though. I was at a funeral on Friday and chugging around in a procession got annoying after awhile. If money allowed, next time around I think I'd build a 408 and put a baby cam in it. Instead of trying to make a little motor do the work of a big motor, I would let the bigger motor be a big motor

Yours is on a 114 LSA hirdlej? I tell ya, the alcohol is killing my memory cells lately. Anyway I thought your cam was a 218/224 on a 112 LSA and that's why you can feel the motor so much through the shifter. Basic statement of mine above still holds that a 218/224 is a great cam. I cannot fathom how some of you fellas are running 240+ duration cams.

Yuppers, it has a 114 LSA. - I'm going to hit the rollers sometime this week. I'll hopefully have some numbers scanned in for you guys soon so I can share.

So, say you could go back again and re-do your camshaft selection. Would it be more like a 218/224 .570+/.570+ on a 116LSA or something smaller, say for example a 216/222 .570+/.570+ on a 116LSA? Something in between?

I simply don't think I could live with a 218/224 based on what Hirdle said. I NEED big low end. I just don't drive over 3000 rpm, period. I want great throttle response and big torque. I'm looking at either the 212/218 high lift, 216/220 or vinci 210/218
