Default cams for a 4.8

i really dont know too much about cams so i decided to start getting opinions since this is pretty much what this forum is for. mods are in my sig, im kinda leaning toward the thunder 224/224 since i have read so much good word on it from u guys. i want a cam with alot of lope and doesnt just gulp fuel. i plan on getting my convertor worked or maybe getting the trailblazer one. also with whatever cam is recomended cam u tell me what i need to run it like springs, pushrods, rockers any help is greatly appreciated

the bigger the cam the more fuel you will use..
I get about 10 MPG with the 224.. cant keep my foot out of it..
a 212/218 will net you some good numbers, plus I hear the MPG is better with it..

Same here, 10 MPG. It's hard with that 3500 too..

218/220
216/218 cam..
I believe there is a 210 cam floating around as well, I dont have any numbers for that cam..

but the 2 listed aboove are quite common for most guys... and they are decent cams as well..

anything over 216ish in size and you will need a 2800+ stall.. so the TB unit isnt exactly the best combo for cams over 220/220 in size

I'd get a 212/218 112 for sound and good power
or a 216/220 114 for some sound and good power

both would need a 2600-2800 stall easy

Where can you get a 212/218 on a 112? I was looking at Vinci's 210/218 112 for my 4.8 but haven't decided yet. Would there be much difference in a 210/218 and a 212/218 and where would you find a 216/218? It seems like I'm not looking hard enough because I can't seem to find all these grinds. I'm kinda on the same page as Regency; hopefully this can help both of us out.

The 216/218 will go real good with the tb stall. I have the 220/220 and am in the process of geting a 3000 or 3200 PI TC. As far as springs, go with the comp 918's and hardened pushrods.

There is a 210 on here. i have been thinking about it but people keep calling me stupid becasue "a cam swap will not increase fuel economy at all" that is all i am getting from people here, but we are about to put it in a friends tahao then we will see.
