I think a reverse split XFI 224/220ish on a tighter(110-112) lsa would be killer......

Just to add a little bit more to this discussion, I think the reason why cams in the 220's run so well in our trucks is because they make high torque averages across the rpm range. Larger duration cams would probably go faster if the trucks running them had real short gear sets to take advantage of the higher narrower power band. Unfortunatley the truck intake manifolds won't allow the engines to maintain that high rpm power so it would require at least a car style intake to do it.

So how so you think the 220/218, 111+0 that I have in the garage will do?

I think so because the reverse split helps overcome some of the shittyness of the truck intake to cram some air into the engine and with the low lsa you are bringing the powerband down to a useable level to where you can make alot of power before you max out the truck intake. With the extra intake duration and low lsa that cam should pull good to 6Kish and make damn good power getting there, it oculd be better with a couple degrees advance but it should do well for you IMO.

If you guys noticed, the "guinea pig" has a ls6 intake on there, so unfortunately it won't be a comparison with the truck intake, but it does show potential of the cams with the mods to support the added af. I can't wait to see the results, I might just wait to order my cam till I see the result.

That is exactly what I'm after, and I do already a Crane double roller adjustable timing chain so I can easily advance it if I feel like it.

Are you sticking with the TT3000? I'd guess that +0 will keep your TQ curve looking the broadest. If you start hitting up the track and bump up the converter, go +2... which should bump it up from 4000-5000. You should have sooooo much ******* TQ with that setup. That wannabe 6.0L of yours.

Yeah, I'm sticking with the TT3000. And I might actually have a good trans in a month or so. Just in time for it to be put away for winter.
