Camshaft Swap into Brand-New GMPP Engine
Ok, so the short of the story is air in oil galley = starved crankshaft = i need a new engine.
Sooo... I'm gonna get a LQ9 Longblock. Now, the question is do i put my 224/228 Voodoo cam inplace of the stock one. Of course yes, but i need to convince my father that it will not risk any future damage to the engine.
Now, since this is a GMPP engine, with a 100,000mi warranty. The Head Service Tech and my local dealer already agreed that he would have the camshaft swap and still honor the warranty of the engine (as long as its not valvetrain) so thats not a issue.
But still, what really is the chance, of a properly tuned engine being damaged from a aftermarket camshaft?

Hehe i guess thats a go then. I handled the cam personally this evening, and its in great shape. A few shiney spots from the initial seating but zero damage.
Besides, the LQ9 will have bread new lifters too.
Oh and i get to keep the old engine to boot! Block is damaged, but the heads, lifters, and ARP stuff i put in are all good. (Gonna see if i can get the tech to put my ARP rod bolts in the LQ9 before it goes back in.)

Oh i'll make sure i have it in writing. Also, the dealer i go to is in my hometown which is small... Very small and i know just about everyone who works there so thats to my advantage. But i see no reason that they would attempt to shaft me that way. But i'll get it in writing anyway
EDIT: Also, i'm apparently cant remember ****, the GMPP warranty on engines is 12months, 12,000 miles. Not 100,000 like i originally wrote.
