can I use my stock push rods with this cam

If you using the stock rockers the stock rods should work. If you switch to stud mounted rockers such as the Comp Pro Mags you will have to upgrade the pushrods as well because they require guideplates to keep the rockers in alignment. When the stock rods rub on the guideplates it gauls them. You have to switch to hardened pushrods when using guideplates; otherwise you should be OK.

well i think it is a matter of opinion. imo it doesnt matter if you are using stock rockers or not. you are adding lift and spring tension. the stock stuff is designed for less than 500 lift. Z06 springs are good for 550 lift. you can prolly get away with it for a while.

I have many high rev mile on my cam with stock pushrods and 01 LS6 blue springs.
.560 lift.

EDIT*** I do have 7.35 rods, so there not stock. Dont know exactly what brand though. Nice and shinny though. lol.

(Helpfull hint, wives dont bitch mutch about buying a new motor if the one in your truck is blown.) 402 here i come.

I think the only way to tell for SURE is to measure the base circle of the new cam. I'll measure my stocker at home if you need that spec.

I agree with most others though, I think there's a 99% chance that you'll need 7.4" PR's with that lift. When the lift is getting up into that range, if the lobes are kept on the factory base circle the lobes will be physically larger than the cam bearing's, giving you all kinds of problems installing the cam in the block. The trick is to make the base circle smaller, dropping the lifters down the bores a bit - which is why you need the longer PR's - to take up that slack.

I'm running Thunder Racing pushrods for what it's worth. They're beefy as hell, look like great quality, and seem to work great.
