Default Can a stock 5.3L hold 600whp?

5.3L with 6.0 heads hold

im thinking with 7k budget i could swap a 5.3L in-

i was planning on big f/i cam, better springs, 60lbs injectors.

gonna try and keep the intercooled custom STS set-up but swap the turbo out for a MPT70 .81 a/r- try and hit 600whp if its possible??????????

maybe stick a 4l80e behind the bitch with custom aluminum driveshaft and a ford 8.8" rearend with a girdle......... if budget allows.

It would need to be tuned just about perfect. But like stated above, "not for long". Why a Ford 8.8? What's wrong with the GM 14 bolt rear?

a nearly stock 6.0 lasted me a long time at 600+rwhp and i ended up killing it with a nitrous misshap. i think a 5.3 would hold 600+ as well but you will have to push it a little harder than the 6.0 so who knows for how long. i would say 500-550hp for a long time, like years if you keep the tune dead on and never let it knock.

It amazing to hear what these LSx engines are capable of handling in stock form. At least GM did something right! Now it would be a wonder if GM could pull a tranny out there *** that would hold up to High HP & TQ abuse without it robbing so more HP & TQ from the persuasion up front. Make it light weight too! I know........ they're not listening to me.

you better upgrade that tranny the same time as the motor, because the tranny will go first.

should i keep the 4l60e and build it? or swap to a turbo400 (just get the computer reflashed for a manual tranny or w/e?

8.8" is hella cheap compared to a new gm 14bolt. and fits right into my s10blazer + moves the wheels out 1.5" on each side putting the wheels flush with the fenders and allowing for a wider wheel/tire.

what did the GM 14bolt come on stock??????

also weakest part of the 5.3L?
