Default Car Craft Little Bro 5.3

I just got my October issue of Car Craft and in it they take a stock 5.3, add a set of long tubes and swap in a LPE GT2-3 and GT1-1 cams and made nice power.

stock w/ LTs: 323hp@ 5400, 355tq@ 4000
GT2-3: 378hp @ 6000, 366tq @ 4800
GT1-1: 413hp @ 6600, 369tq @ 4800

cam specs:
GT2-3: 206/221 .571/.578 118.5 lsa
GT1-1: 229/242 .631/.631 114.5 lsa

next month they are adding heads and intake.

Wow, good info.

Look how much the added duration rose peak horsepower.

Is that horsepower at the tires ?

I was gonna say the same thing. Those numbers are pretty high. Guess I will be surprised if they are!!

no, those numbers were not at the wheels, they were running it on an engine dyno.

nah that had to be a motor dyno. stock 5.3 w/ headers at 323 horsepower. 100rwhp from headers would be quite nice though

Thats still 342 rwhp (17% drivetrain loss) with just a cam install and headers. Thats damn impressive.

Whats the specs on those LPE cams anyway?


**EDIT-Nevermind. I found the site..

GT1 228/243 .629/.629 114 w/1.7 rockers
GT2 205/212 .540/.540 116.5 w/1.7 rockers

That GT1 has got some lift to it!!

Did they have to flycut the pistons with the GT1 cam?
