I agree with you on the cam. I don't know of too many guys that want to shift the truck at 6800-7000 rpm. As far as lost torque, interestingly enough, the ported heads recovered 14 ft/lb of lost torque at 2000 rpm.

Hey bortous, this is a 6 year old thread, why don't you start a new one titled "Lingenfelter GT1-1 in LS2", or something along those lines?

BTW, welcome to the site

Default Not the first car craft 5.3 L build

Hey guys n gals , I'm not sure when it was exactly but Car Craft did a junkyard 5.3L build a while back . They started with putting a carb, intake long tubes and an MSD ignition controller and got 335 hp and 350 tq for their baseline #'s . then they put a cam and springs the springs they said was because they anticipated the red line increasing which it did to 6800 . The ponies increased by 96 to 431 with roughly 365 tq. Then they tried 3 different cyl. head pairs with the best pushing it to 459 hp and 398tq. at flywheel . Not to shabby for just a cam n heads . Course with money not being an issue they spent alot ,,,,don't remember

Oops , I just saw the last post ,,,,,,,,,,,,,I did'nt realize the thread was so old ???
