Do you have a pull-out 6.0? If so, do you have everything to do a complete swap (ECU, harness, etc)... If you do, save yourself a lot of hastle and just get a computer tune. It'll run a lot better if you just tune it. I'd go with full bolt ons and a computer tune before I even thought about going carb with that motor. It's an LS based motor, anyways. Definately go fuel injected...

To properly get the carb version running will cost more then getting a computer and a quick (start up) tune.

Carb:
Carb: $200 (at least)
Carb Intake: $400
Distributor Adapter: $500 or so
Fuel Regulator (from ~60psi down to ~6psi for the carb): ~$100

EFI:
ECM: $60 (eBay)
Tune: $150

Most Mail Order Tuners will sell you a start up tune and ECM for about $200. Do you already have HPTuners? If so, just purchase an ECM from eBay and I can supply you with a stock 6.0L start up tune (no cost). Let me know.

i have a few diff carbs lying around, have a regulator, found a distrubutor adapter for dirt dirt cheap. thats kind of why im leaning towards going carb'd. if i can find just an intake for cheap ill be set.

and thanx 12secss but no i dont have HPTuners yet, but i appreciate the offer. you dont happen to have a bench tuner do you? if youd tune a pcm for less than nelson etc i could come up with a pcm from my buddies that do rebuilds for dirt cheap.

Just order a stock ECU off ebay or from the classifieds and get it tuned. Save yourself a lot of trouble, really.

If the motor is stock you could run the PCM without a tune for now. There are some good mail order options available for $$ or so, until you could get a dyno tune. I'd also forget going with the carb.

what happened to paying for the wiring harness to run all the efi crap? there 400-600 bucks depending on the brand

why would you do a distributer adapter? you should buy a msd 6010. it's less than $300 bucks and does it all and the intake is less than $300
so ends up being about equal.

That is for a new custom harness. He can get a OE harness for about $200, plus I think I recall he had a harness with the engine already.

You still need to use the "efi crap", since the MSD box probably uses the crank and cam sensors, as well as other efi sensors for it to work, it just doesn't control the throttle body and injectors. An ECM can do the same thing with a carb and still come out for less.

I think this group is just ant carb. If he wants a carb let him do it. I am very happy with my 383 that has a carb.
