cat delete= slower?

it's not that it feels slower, it is slower. my 0-60 time before i took my cats off was 9.78 seconds(i'm at 5700 feet). after i took the cats off i'm now sitting on 10.20 seconds 0-60. don't get me wrong, it's still fast enough to edge out a 4 door 4x4 titan from a red light.
the sound is worth it, it doesn't drone much more than it used to on the highway, stop light to stop light it gets pretty loud though.

here's a question. after it gets tuned, do you guys think it would be faster with or with out the cats with my current mods?

it will for sure be faster without cats and a tune BUT you need to get headers otherwise its just half done.

ok dont spend any more money... save up 1000 bucks and go get an lq4.... best bang for buck.......

headers may give you 2 to 3 tenths for 500 bucks

but how about 1 to 1.5 seconds for a grand....

...then you need to buy a built tranny too b/c the 60e will not last too long once you get your foot in it. another $1500 or so.

cam, gears, posi, slicks, ect.... it will never stop. he might just want a "quick" 4.8 with good gas mileage..

true... then you'll get tired of that and do the long tubes and cam anyway on the 6.0. Your truck will slowly turn into a bottomless money pit

$1500 for a trans and $600 for a converter? I'm thinking more like $2k+ for a trans, and $725+ for a converter that I'd put behind a 6.0...(except maybe a Yank TT3000 for $575 if it's a mild 6.0)

It all depends on where you go and also how much hp you plan to run.

well, eventually i might do a 6.0 swap. i'm in highschool though, so i don't have much $$ to play with.

after i pay my dad back, over the summer i'll get it tuned, headers and true duals, trailblaser ss tq(or comparably cheap used aftermarket), shift kit, and hopefully a trailblaser ss intake manifold. after that i'm saving for a lift, tires, 4.56 gears, trutrac, and a zf s6-650 tranny swap. after that i'll look into either building the 5.3 or getting a 6.0.
