Default Charged 2008 Silverado 5.3???

I have now got a 2008 Chevy Silverado Z71 that Im wanting to get some more power out of.. I have very little experience with F/I and I was wondering if this kit is any good and if there is anything else i need to go along with it. My truck as it sits has just a flowmaster muffler and K&N drop in filter. I am wanting to get into the high performance aspect of trucks. So let me know.. Any help will be appriciated.

Supercharger Kit:
2005-2011 GM/Chevy Truck/SUV Supercharger Systems | Lysholm

Its the Lysholm Twin Screw Supercharger System that is carried by Vortech dealers.

Great choice to go F/I! When I was researching different options the magnacharger TVS1900 and the one you posted (or the Whipple equivalent) were neck and neck for me. What pushed me towards the Magnusson was the much larger dealer network, and greater number of people out there who have put this style s/c on their truck and have tuned for different combinations with it. Basically, to use a computer analogy, if you have a problem with a windows computer, you'll be able to find help and solutions much easier than if you had a Linux system.

Both s/c styles are very refined, have complete kits and instructions and will make great power. There's a guy on here with a bagged silver crew cab with the Lysholm and 4.8, who's never had any problems with it. I can't recall his name but if I do I'll post it and you can ask him yourself what he thinks of it.

I love my TVS and have no complaints. One thing to consider, is the smaller 1.9L case of the TVS is better suited for the 'smaller' 5.3 engines, versus the 2.3L case of the Lysholm. But the larger case gives you room to grow down the road, so there's a tradeoff. It's a marginal tradeoff, but it's still there to consider.

Best of luck deciding, there is no wrong choice!

If you keep it below 10psi you should be fine all day. A good blower cam will go a long way in helping power. Dont forget trans, rear end, and fuel system upgrades!
