Default A cheaper alternative to brand-name 160º Thermostats

I'm reposting this on behalf of Superado....the original post violated our non-sponsor rules but since the info is too good to get rid of I decided to reword and repost it

From what I've read...the others that sell for $50 are made by Motorad as well and sold as Hypertech, etc.
I think that this is a great find...I'm happy!
I'm sorry I had to cut the names of the autoparts stores that carry these thermostats but as they are not sponsors I was unable to leave their names......

To begin with, thank you Yelo, and all the moderators and administrators of performanetrucks.net for the time you spend helping make this site the best one of its kind. I truly enjoy this site, and it has become a part of my daily activities, increasingly of late.

Don't take this the wrong way, but if every mention of Summit, Jegs, NAPA, AutoZone, Advance, PepBoys, O'Reilly's or Home Depot was edited, reworded or removed...half the threads here would be altered.

I had NO idea that the mention of a chain parts store would violate anything, especially when none of the sponsors carry the item that I'm posting about. My research only found two stores that were able to provide the part, one of which is like pulling teeth to get anything that isn't on the shelf.
In hindsight, I probably shouldn't have listed it in the thread title, but other than that...

Anyway, I appreciate the info being somewhat left for others to benefit from. If anyone needs to know where they can easily get one, just pm me. Also, if you want to know how to contact the manufacturer to speak w/ their tech dept. to get a part # for your particular application, just pm me as well.

Superado....Please don't take this edit as an insult, THIS is what we are suppposed to do on here as Mods, The only reason we even touched it was because of the autoparts store name being mentioned in the title.

And FYI: Thunder Racing sells a 160* thermostat insert for $19.95 ....

I thought you could mention non sponsor stores as long as you don't list their prices? I know prices were listed in his thread, but I'm just asking?..

Yelo...I don't take it that way...trust me...
I just know that I read threads daily that have parts stores mentioned...I don't want to list them...that's not my style...
I appreciate whoever helped me out w/ the *** in the other thread...
And I really do appreciate all that you do...
Again...don't take this the wrong way...but I have read threads since my edit that have non-sponsors mentioned...
It's ALL good!
