I was just searching around and found this. I thought the vararam and tornado were pretty full of ****, but this has to take the cake!!! Also to the left there is a guy from Jax, FL saying he gained tons of power and 3.5mpg on his Cobra with these wires. I used to buy my N2O at that guys shop and always knew he was full of it.

Spark is spark... aftermarket wires are only for reliability IMO.

You do gain a little more spark and a couple hp at best with less resistive wire, but no more than 4-5hp on older motors with 3 ft wires. Our short wires maybe 1-2hp.

well if that is the case, why not build a bracket to move the coils
closer to the plugs, where we can use a 4" wire instead of an 8" wire.
make it even better, build a bracket with a heat shelid to connect the coil
almost directly to the plug with some kind of 2" connection.

or has this already been done with no results of any gain at all.

Alot of the high power 4 bangers have no plug wires, the coil sits directly on the plug. You wouldnt see any worthwile gain from moving the coils closer.

I did gain nearly 3mpg on my 2001 Grand Am 2.4L when I took the stock plugs out and put in the platnimum+4's. It also idled smoother and felt better responce. It had about 45k on the stock plugs when they came out.

And as far as reliability, stock wires are great. Aftermarket wires have many more problems - just do some digging and you will easily find some horror stories from all of the manufacturers.

I guess I could have. All the miles were easy highway, but the plugs could have just needed changed. I am not a believer in the 100k miles plugs. I like to change mine every year or every 40k which ever comes first.

Your right about stock wires being reliable, I have bought 2 sets of performance wires in my life and had trouble with both sets. I've never had problems with stockers.
