Default Choosing the right cam

Ok so I have done a lot of reading the last few days on a cam. The tech at my shop is going to install one super cheap for me. Going to go ahead and get it done soon.

If Im going to cam this truck I want everyone to know it has a cam if you know what I mean. I want a lot of lobe and power. Still want it to be a decent daily driver too.

Im going to have my tune that Im sure will have to be retuned after the install, full exhaust, shift kit and vette servos and cai.

Do I really need a stall with a cam thats as big as I want to go? Im going for a nice looking somewhat fast truck here.

Its a 5.3 2003 Sierra. What do you guys reccomend?

Yeah thanks.

Im asking for my application though. I dont want to spend a ton and not get what I want.

So I want to install a tr224. Will that be a good cam for power across the rpms and sound?

What do you suggest I put in the search box? I tried:

cam
cam kit
cam install
best cam
best camshaft
cam 5.3
camshaft 5.3

what else would you like me to type in?

Your 'application' isn't going to be much different than anyone else's...

You said you were thinking of a TR224. Maybe try 'TR224'. You want something with a sound you like. Maybe try 'Cam Sound Clips' or something to that effect. You want something with good power across the board. Maybe try searching for some dyno charts.

id say a TR220 or a TR224 or something along those lines is what you want.

need a 3,000rpm stall for the full effect of the cam

what size stall/are you guna get a stall and what size
TSP has some cheap cam kits that include the cam/springs and pushrods all together

to get alot of lope you need a stall for sure. gears will help too....its all a big downhill mess after you get modding haha.
