if ya got the cash id get the maggie, but with it you'll need a trans sooner or later
Ok I found it. Thanks.

So is this the order I should do the mods in?

Shift kit and servos
Headers
Converter
rear end
cam

Or should I just do the trans mods and get a cooler then buy a maggie? I just got a pretty well paying job and will be able to buy one in a few months at most.

everyone has their own method of getting there. i was a full bolt-on 5.3 without a cam, then ran a ls1 on the stock cam for a good while before i made the leap. i waited alot longer than most guys for the cam.

most go out and get an intake, full exhaust, converter, cam and gears and put down great times.

I've done alot of research on this subject, as I am ready for a cam swap. After reading threads for days and books and talking with tech at thunder racing, I've decided on a tr220-114. If you want alot of lope and dont have to worry about smog go with a tr220-112. 224 is a big cam and unless you've got the mods to support it it'll probably be a bit sluggish on the bottom end especially without a stall. with a 220 you can prob get away with a tbsc and be ok. of course everyone has very different opinions on cams. this is all my opinion. they are also exhaust happy cams, so let it breath as much as possible

3200 almost stock size? A stock converter doesn't stall anywhere near there...

almost stock diameter meaning it holds more fluid, less heat.
