Default Coils - Worth any upgrade?

Been running stock coils since day 1...just curious what my options are for upgrade - and is it worth it?

No. Stock coils are fine. They are good to well over 700 hp..

actually if you can find the round coils with the heat sinks they seem to be the coils of choice lately. Also LS7/ls2 ones are next in line. They tested the output and the ones with heat sinks were proven to gain a few ponies.

one guy claimed 7 rwhp from coil swap. if you have any doubts search for this title on ls1tech. its several pages and includes part numbers

Stock coils FTW!

I remember reading dyno charts showing Granatelli plug wires adding 25hp also. Whatever.

Thnx guys...I've read some threads on this too, and seems that its not worth the $500 for a few minor ponies...Better to save my cash for a 427!

If I had unlimited funds I'd buy the MSD's just because I like to waste money

first thing I'm gonna do is move the coils back on top of the valve covers (from the firewall) to shorten up the wires...prob save 2/3rds of the length! Havent done it yet cause I want to find some covers that also cover the coils...anyone know of any decent ones?
