PVC pipe and cone filter works great for an intake. And definitely use one of our tuner sponsors that way you get a specific tune to what you have instead of a general tune.

If I were to do it over again, this is the route that I'd probably go, except I'd get a dry filter...pretty sure that Amsoil makes a cleanable factory replacement. If you get an 05+ AirRaid tube, I'm pretty sure that it's meatier than a 99-04 since the 05+ is designed with the extra space that the efans allow for (if you don't have efans, you will have a conflict between the tube and fan shroud though)

I like my Volant with ram air, looks nice and works the same as my old K&N did, but it's a pricey item for very little gains.

I've got a K&N FIPK on one truck with a dry-flo filter, and a metal-tubed Spectre on the other with heat-reflective tape on it. No complaints on either.
