Default Cold air intakes?

I was wandering about cold air intakes is there a brand that is better than k and n or are they bout the same.

Your best bet is a Airraid MIT tube and your stock box.

Build one or do what nonnie said.
I spent less than 50$ on mine. 4in drain pipe and reducer from lowes and 90 degree elbow from the net.

It dont have to be pretty to be functional...

search intake hoses on google.
ive made a few for under $45 from 4" alum and a couple elbows.

I am tempted to go back to a stock box or volant type intake.
Open element spectre works but i think i can improve IAT temps some

@grey matter, I belive I read a long thread over this. I think nonnie was the man doing the logging if I remember correct the stock box out performed the open style intake. Cooler iats.
I have also thought about drilling some holes in the bottom or front of my box but have not yet...

And no guys I didn't not leave that goofy looking color pipe on. I threw some black spray paint on it and rapped it with header rap.

I was gunna do the slp black wing, has anyone tried that one? It's not a open filter like a k&n but I don't want an open one but if anyone has used a slp cold air let me kno

I have a functional ram hood on my truck, and it has about an 8x8 square right over the air box, what intake would be good to run?? I was thinking volant but it has a lid on it
