Default Cold Air kit possible water intake in rain ?

Just installed Cold air kit it has the cool aluminum tube with the metal divider and the open cone filter. Installing it I had removed the bottom plate so there is no barrier from the filter to the road. It just lucks like it could suck in water if it rained where as the original 06 was enclosed in a box and vented through ports in the side. Has anybody had any problems with this style sucking in water in a rainstorm or off road-ing? I also have 2.5 true duals all the way o the rear and I didn’t notice any performance increase after installing it other then it looks cool, wonder if it worth the cost

looks like this one but aluminum tube

if your worried bout water gettin in, just put on a AEM bypass after the filter. the CAI didn't do u any good power wise.... should put money toward some long tubes

I have a k&n precharger on over my filter. It keeps all water out. Look that way.

Mine was the same way.... Drove it in tropical storms (literally) and never had an issue... I wouldn't recommend fording a river with it but I wouldn't worry about even the heaviest rain... I have a different intake setup now though
