3 pounds of rotating mass per hub (especially on the rear) is a huge amount. Drag racers go to a “star” flange on rear axles to save fractions of a pound for et/mph reasons, 3 # per hub is huge. If you are wanting to maximize the setup then the 20s are the best option, its not something that’s going to make a life or death difference. These are trucks we are dealing with so going ***** out to save every ounce is out the window from the beginning, however if you do some searching online you can find some sort of formula that will show you what 6# of rotating mass on the rear axle will lose you. I’ve seen it before, I will look later on today. The cam you choose should be researched, don’t just buy what so and so tells you, call a few places, tell them exactly what you want, they will point you in the right direction. The 216/218 cam I had, had a wicked sound, didn’t shake the motor, didn’t surge, didn’t give me any idle or cruising issues what-so-ever, having a stall will help that some, having a great tune will help it even more. The right set of headers and exhaust system will go a LONG way on that 4.8L, I ran some custom built 1 7/8” ¾ length headers into a 2.5” mandral bent true dual system with x pipe and twin bullets, performed flawlessly, sounded amazing, I had 3 different engine builders tell me that 2.5” was fine for the setup I was running. Intake is a big thing to, air in, air out ya know… but the 4.8L wants air and RPM, remember that. Make it breathe better and it will do everything you want it to.

farm car is still alive, no worries....

I think he would take you up on the bike offer, that would be embarrising for you...

Noah, i see to many CARS running around here with 24s, at least with 22s i am only 2" behind them, besides, these trucks have huge fender wells, just trying to fill it out a little more.

I do plan on headers and all complimenting mods before i stick the cam in.

you need to get that thing lowered... i agree, i hate the fender gap on my 08 ccsb... it'll be getting a 3/5 or something of that nature shortly.

Brian, send those headers and Y fort worth way...
