Default Comp 212/218 .522/.529 114 and ls1 edit tuning is in.

Well this past Friday my friend Daniel (aka RGVSierra) made our way over to San Antonio to have my cam swapped and get some tuning. I really wanted to get everything done that same day but Allen from Nelson Performance was swamped with work that day. He was still able to hook me up with someone else to do the cam swap with this other place in S.A. called Lethel Performance. I was impressed by how quick they were able to do the cam swap. That afternoon, after the cam swap, I headed over to Nelson Performance to have tuned. On the way over there I could feel a very noticable difference with this cam. It really woke up my 5.3 specially up on top. After getting it tuned by Allen and doing several run and logs, I noticed another huge difference after his tune. OH... keep in mind that stupid me, I me forgot to take off the HPP3 and left at home 250 miles away. So this huge difference that I am talking about was over the HPP3 not the stock tuning. All I can say if anybody is interested in a tune, Allen is the guy to go see.

Sweet .. that looks like a nice cam. That's about what they suggested to use with the blower. I think I want something a tad more agressive though.

File, that kicks ***! Glad you got some power. How's the idle? How far did you advance the timing tables?

Ah, do tell. Do tell! I wanna know! How does the truck feel down low. About like stock? Or is it weak as all hell?

Cam in question: 212/218 .522/.529 114lsa

02 LS6: 02 ZO6 204/218 .551/.555 117.5

ZO6 cam will make more power up top. The LSA makes that happen. Few people say not to run it due to that. Low end power really isnt there with the LS6 cam. Furthermore; the 212/218 will make more power down low.

Here are some clips of the 212/218 that BlackZ71 posted a while back. First clip is of the truck just after startup. Second is after the truck is warmed up.

yes sir, that is a good cam. good lope to it, without tune or tb adjustment it would bearly idle, now with tune it has a nice lope, with a louder exhaust, it should be really noticable, but the magnaflow does a good deal in hiding it. Myself and file always raced and were neck and neck, it was really hard to tell who would win. Now that he put in that cam along with a Nelson edit tune,(good to meet you) it is very noticable, we have not raced them since the cam, but while with him in the passenger seat, you can definately tell a difference, sucker pulled hard to 6200. i dont think its gonna be close anymore. I may try a comp cam 216-220 or a 02 ls6 cam and edit to see how they compare performance wise..

btw. the mexican(forgot your screen name), congrats on a nice truck, i really like it. that is a nice sleeper you have there. to bad we couldent line the two trucks up, it would have been fun..

Hey, File and rgvsierra, very nice to meet you and I had a great time hanging out. Someday all of us (including others) will get some time to hang out and race around, lol. That would have been great to see The_Mexican and Tiburon run'em, both of those trucks run hard.

Your truck runs very nice, pulls reall hard and doesn't seem to quit pulling.

rg, you just have to go with a bigger cam, lol, staying ahead of file, hahahaha.

glad to meet ya and see ya soon,

allen
