That's a pretty mean lobe to be putting into a daily driven truck there dude....although it IS becoming a commonly seen one

If it were me I'd stick with an XE lobe on a daily driver.....

I hear the xer lobes help idle quality and mid range quite a bit.

Two lobes w/ the same .050 specs, but one being more aggressive. The more aggressive lobe will idle better from less overlap, and make more power from more lobe at higher lift values.

I was talking to a guy the other day, who had been driving his Vette for 40,000 miles with xe-r lobes. No problems.

More aggressive lobes tends to lead to faster spring wear and add to the "sewing machine" effect....I'm not saying that they are bad, just that they are more aggressive and are harder on parts

I hear ya bro. what would be a good switch in valvetrain parts to help deal with the added strain?

Brian Brannen (unaffiliated racing) @ Comp has some interesting opinions about valvetrain parts paired with the Comp lobes. I'd suggest contacting him before using a xe-r profile.

Dual springs, hardened pushrods, adjustable rockers.....pretty much the standard stuff but it can get pretty pricey and IMHO I'm not sure that an XE-R lobe is necessary to get good idle and mid-range, I know I'm a little bias but I'd REALLY reccomend the Crane/Vince cams....they are easier on parts and perform just as well or better in the mid-range that cams with XE-R lobes
