Default Continuing on: LPP LT’s??

So I'm pretty sure I am going with the LPP's when it comes time to get some headers.

Now I have MORE questions about them!

Has anyone installed these things AND the "high velocity merge collector"??

I mean that merge collector sure looks sweeter, but is it really worth the extra $150? what exactly is its function? Does anyone know if LPP will cut the headers and weld these things on or do I need to do the work myself?

Make this easy for you http://tinyurl.com/yks3dw9

While they say that a merge helps alot, I feel that it will make the biggest differences on a Big hp app..Call Lpp up and see if they will do it for you.. IMO do I think on your setup you will be able to tell the diff with one or not.. No I do not, but what do I know... It would be worth it if your out to get every little bit, but your not drag racing here..

The high velocity merge collector is worth another ~10 HP at the flywheel from tests I have seen on SBC's. The problem is, it's $150 PER merge collector from LPP adding $300. By that time you might as well get yourself a nice set of USA made headers. I still say get the ebay/OBXs

But was that on a full equal length long tube, or just a set of longtubes?

It's still $100 more than the OBXs. Plus, you'll spend that extra $50 on quality band clamps anyways. Been there done that.

So buy the damn things, slap them on and then go out and beat the ever lover hell out of that hog. DOOOO IT And LPP over them wanna be dynatechs.. You don't need v bands.. I think Randomhero ohh my bad GMCtrk() has had some bad exp with slip fit headers in the past, so he is a **** on them.. Get some decent stainless band clamps and go.. You will be fine

You can also just cheat a little and use some copper silicone on the pipe before you slip it over the header, then use clamps as well.

I will be doing this soon.

Also, randomhero gmctrk comparison is funny as hell.

im not TOO worried about the slip fitting... I certainly would prefer flange fittings, but **** it... sometimes you cant eat your cake and have it too!
