And also the transfer case is still hooked to the transmission cause I don't have a tail shaft yet. But Just the cv shafts and the driveshaft and front differential weighs over 150 lbs. Thats like 2-3 tenths. And the reason I won't trade the truck is because it has 19000 miles is a 2003 and has custom paint. it is a sentimental thing. Come on guys you understand. Well if you want the stuff let me know. Like I said wanting to trade rather then sell. Later, Jared

steering system ummm. Nothing to do with four wheel drive. took out the differential driveshaft. Put in new wheel bearing and locked them in by taking apart the cv halfshafts and only using the bolted in side of them. Put back in frame rail pieces. I am not all the way done. I still have to pull the t-case but I am waiting to buy a 4l60e or 4l80e 2wd tranny.

I see. I was thinking you were just doing the opposite of what I want to do, which is convert to where the only way you could tell the truck isn't original is by the VIN. What you are doing sounds like it will serve your purpose of losing some weight off the front.

Sounds like a waste of your investment, plus now you can't go wheelin. I go off-roadin in 2 wheel drive until I get stuck then put it in 4wd to get out, you 'll get stuck on level wet grass in 2wd, its sad if your $30,000 truck can't cross a lawn.

L-eater, I just had a frame swap done on my truck a month ago, hit a deer then a tree. It took the shop months to do and about $11,000 but thats with all the body work too. Don't know if its worth it just to have coil overs.

I am sorry to hear you have a Z71 that gets stuck that easy in 2wd, Thank god you do have a 4wd.

My 2wd drive does fine off road. until I get stuck.

Well I never go offroad it is already lowered 5 inches and I have chrome 18 inch rims. And also have a custom paintjob. It is a toy that I race so I don't care. But if I must mud or offroad I use the beater 1977 Gmc. Why tear up a $30,000 truck. Later
