Default Correct Injectors?

I'm looking to upgrade my fuel injectors and I found these for sale. The guy says their off of a 2004 SS. Will these work with my 99'? Also I know I'll have to get my PCM tuned as well.
Thanks

After some searching it sounds like these will bolt in but I still could not find the #lb rating on these?

Yes, they will drop in.

What mods do you have? Are you going lean because your injectors are maxed?

Right now no major mods, but from what I've been reading it sounds like people have been swapping out 99' injectors for 00'+ because they flow a little more and are a better design.
I was planning on getting a custom tuned PCM to compensate for these or am I way off base thinking here. Am I going to run rich, are these too much flow, or should I just stick to finding some 00'-02' from a 5.3?

If you don't have any major mods that increase airflow, then you won't gain anything from swapping injectors. Your injectors only have to supply enough fuel to match your airflow. Stock injectors can supply enough for a stock engine.

These injectors will flow roughly 24.5#s compared to your 99s which flow about 21.5#s. They are a direct swap in with no special modifications needed.

You need to either run a 2000+ year PCM or get a custom tune with an 00 or 01 year base tune. You'll find that even on a stock truck that the base tune on a 99 model is very faulty. It gets excessive knock retard, has low timing, and feels sloppy in general. Even running LS1 Edit to increase my timing lower knock didn't fix all the issues.

I recently helped a guy get new injectors and PCM up on his near stock 99 truck. He said that its a night and day difference and runs better than it ever has before. More power, more throttle, more crispness, better mileage ... This was a stock 00 tune with those same injectors on a stock truck.

So what's the deal Tex, are the 99 injectors maxed in stock form?

No they aren't maxxed out stock, but they only support just over 300 rwhp NA. The big issue is the 99 tune. It stinks. Even with Edit its hard to make a 99 run GOOD. They have some major issues with very bad knock retard and the stock timing is very low. By moving to a 01 PCM, you don't have to deal with the knock issues, as GM has most of the bugs worked out by now. Torque management is more an issue in 01 than 99, but if you have a 99 you aren't making as much power as you could be, so its a wash. TM can be tuned out though. Since the 01s use those larger 24.5# injectors, its easy to swap PCMs and injectors.

My near stock 99 Z71 5.3 dynoed 218 at the rear in 2nd gear. An 01 with similar mods (muffler, hypertech, and K&N filter) will make 30+ more HP than that. A little bit of that power is in the slightly larger cam, but the rest is in the tune.

I told slowprocess to have his 99 truck custom tuned with an 01+ version. I think he's happy with the results. Of course he doesn't know how much the PCM helped since he swapped motors, trans, converter, headers, and exhaust at the same time.

This is basically what I planned on doing. Do I have to get a 00'+ PCM or can I have someone custom tune my 99' PCM to the 00'+ specs?

You can have a dealership (or someone with the tools like a tuner) flash your current PCM with the VIN of a 00 year truck. Just make sure its the same style truck (example- 2000 Chevy 5.3, 4wd, manual transfer case).
