Custom tuning would be required for the stroker + injectors right?
I'm not against the stroker + nitrous idea, but you also have to think of emissions, driveability/mileage if its a daily driver, and resale value if you dont think you'll keep it forever. I could be wrong but a s/c seems like more of an investement than a stroker+nitrous....you might actually get some of that money back if you did sell it later on.

Anyway, you could recoupe some $$ if and when you got rid of your truck.
Not to mention, a stroker motor might hurt resale value, not help.
Unless its an enthusiast, then you'd get some on the resale.

I already mentioned injectors, but did miss tuning which could be had for $250.
Emissions could be a concern, depending on the state you're in. My mileage is better than with my stock 6.0L and the Radix, right now it's 12.4mpg and only has 600 miles on it. Radix and stock 6.0 was 11-something. I expect my mileage to get in the 13-14 range after a couple of thousand on it - this even includes my hard driving, as so did the Radix + stock 6.0 comparison. Driveabilty is no different than a stock 6.0L if properly tuned. How radical you get with the cam will depend on that, as would it if you were to do a cam upgrade in the stock motor.
As far as getting the money back, like I said if you had a 6.0L block, assuming your stock motor was still in, you could keep the stock motor to put back in, sell it with very little miles on the motor (if that were the case), then sell your 408. You would suffer the same losses selling a used 408 as you would selling a used s-chgr - roughly. I know how much I lost on mine selling it after eight months and 7,000 miles.

If you store your stock motor make sure you coated those cylinder walls with Marvel Mystery Oil!
