It's shitty but even under federal law, you can't (well not suppose too ;p) alter and/or the location of factory installed emission equipment. The tester may not really notice/care as long as there is a cat and it blows clean out the tail. (Which I honestly couldn't tell ya if it would) Though you never know, could get a ********. If you go the route you posted, even if you fail you got like a certain amount of days to retest or something right? Yeah, you should keep the stock stuff, just incase..

Well from what I have been reading the stock cats are pretty high flowing. I might cut them out and use them and my pacesetter Y pipe to make a Y that will pass emissions.

I have the pacesetter long tubes and ORY that im going to install on my truck, and i bought some 3in high flow cats off ebay for 50 bucks each, they look just like the high dollar dynatech ones, and im going to weld them into the ORY, that way i dont have to worry about inspection time here in Houston.

HotRodV6 - I'm from houston.... i thinking about doing the same thing.. do you have a link to the high flow cats??
