Question Crank mount offset difference

I posted in the Internal section too.
I have a 99 Silvo and built a new stroker as per my signature. I just read where the 99-00 truck cranks have a different offset of 0.400" where the flywheel bolts up. My question is if this is true what will happen with my Eagle crank and the stock flywheel/converter? Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

The crank issue was only on the 99-00 6L trucks. If you have a 99+ 4.8 or 5.3 truck, then it will work without any crank problems.

So you are going to have a 382 CI stroked out 5.3? Sounds really nice. Get that thing swapped.

What are you going to do about tuning?

Thanks, BigTex, the article I read mentioned all the truck motors. The stock one is 4.8L right now. Didn't want to add in for a TC at this time.
I am traveling right now but plan to swap the motor out by this time next week. 3 weeks of jonesin' to get the engine changed is killing me!
I have a HPP3 right now. A couple of others have done this swap and run the stock tune. This would let me keep the HPP3. After break in and such, we are looking at a local Vette shop that specializes in C5 dyno tuning OR the LS1 tuner.

Your 4.8 will be just fine and not have any crank issues.

With the 01 LS6 cam and springs, it will purr like a kitten with the HPP3 tune. You will get more power out of a bigger cam, but you know that. When you go to a custom tune, have the shop flash a 2000 year VIN and GM file first, then tune that. The 2000 model has a better base tune so your final custom tune will be a better system.

You are going to need bigger fuel injectors pretty quick. Be careful in the upper rpms with the stock 99 injectors, you'll be running lean.

Hmmm, shoulda posted this a long time ago. Thanks again.
Yeah, we kept things "tame" for now to make sure it run OK in that 4x4 brick tank that is a daily driver. We also get sniffed here, too. Made us a little nervous but I shoulda bugged the CA guys for advice.
I did not realize the stock injectors were that stingy. Any of you 6.0L Radix guys want to part with your "old" intakes?!?
Also good to know about the stock tune. I had forgotten that the 99 4.8L had less power the first year than the current models. I have an in with a local dealer who would flash me for free BUT then I guess I lose the HPP3. Boy I hate making decisions like this on Mondays!

Well, you are on the right track. The free dealer flash idea is what I'd do. The 99 injectors were about 21.5 pounders while the 00+ are 24.5 pounders. You'll definitely need to replace the 99s. I had to replace my 24 pound injectors when I did cam and exhaust on my SS. You could put the 2000 PCM tune on, throw on some newer truck injectors, and give youself 15% more fuel, but I doubt that you'll have much room for further mods. Then save up for a real tune and some bigger injectors.

Sounds good. BTW, is there any difference in the truck intake manifold assemblies? I saw the LSx intake test articles and they used a 6.0L intake. Is it better, worse, bigger, smaller, than the 4.8/5.3? There are quite a few 6.0L intakes out there used and I think I can get a whole unit for around $150 or less including injectors.
Wearing out the "thanks again" but thanks again! Appreciate the advice.

Intakes are the same basically, with the newer ones just having the EGR hole plugged up. I've bought and sold newer injectors in the $50 range several times.
