Question crazy ac doesn't work at idle?

I have installed 05 efans on my otherwise stock 01 2500HD as its finally hot as ***** here I have noticed a new trend which is that my AC seems to be non functional when I first start the truck or sit idling for a while at say a long red light... as soon as I'm moving for a few seconds its comes on totally cold, no problem, I'm not talking about the fan running but the actual air temp coming out of the vents... The truck temp could be completely dead cold or normal 200 or so, never overheats, both fans appear to be running correctly, the only thing I recall from the directions was something about the green wire ( I used PCM4less tuning and harness) was for either a manual switch or somehow could be attached to the AC? Anyone??

mines been doing the same thing! I hooked it up to the A/C machine at work, its got a full charge, no leaks, and the refrigerant isn't contaminated, and I'm at a total loss! Let me know if you find something, and I still have the stock belt fan.

I had this problem when I first hooked up my LS1 fans, but I didn't hook up the a/c wire, so the fans weren't on when the a/c was. With r134a coolant, the condenser has to have air flow, or it won't cool. Thats why it works when youre moving. Hook up your fans to come on with the a/c, and your problem should be fixed.

I've got 2005 truck efans installed on my 2004 H2. I'm seeing the same issue you guys are once the truck is up to temp and sitting in traffic with little to no airflow over the condensor. I made my problem a little worse by the location of my upgraded radix heat exchanger (in front of the AC condensor) but it always clears up as soon as the truck moves.

One of my efans triggers when the AC turns on because I use the Nelson harness. It still gets warm inside though.

Default My 05 Z71 Does Not Have This Problem

I wonder why the folks adding e-fans do not duplicate the 05 OE setup. Is the harness and solinoids\relays that exspensive?

I'm just using a temp controller from Pep Boys. When my fans kick on. Both come on high. Triggered by temp, or the A/C.

White1 is right. The a/c need airflow to blow cold otherwise it will think that the engine is overheating and blow hot air. I wired mine right but when my fans crapped out on me, I had the a/c blowing hot air on me.

Ok guys,I'll let in on the secret to ICE COLD AC with 05 fans.I have NELSON harness with 1 fan high AC on,2 fans low to temp, both fans on high, temp and AC.The trick to cold AC in traffic is use manaul switch to put both fans on high.My AC gets so cold in traffic I have to raise temp up 2 clicks.I live in LOUSIANA and temps here get up to 95* everyday Also I have a Yank 2600 converter.I tow a construction trailer in traffic,if I put manual switch on,trans temps never get above 155*.Moral to the story is get Nelson harness WITH manual overide switch and use in traffic to pull air acoss condensor at all times.
