Yea that's not always true.. Went slower with the big cam, added more nitrous, still slower than the little cam. Even tho i did cut a better 60' with the big cam.. Just put a little cam back in mine.. I have torque.. Lol
What cam are you using now?

239/254 .595/.623 114+5
Actually has some low end tq now.. Gonna attempt to tune the nitrous today or tomorrow and take it to the track Friday..

Mines .235/.251 .621/.624 113 so numbers are pretty close to yours. Interested to see how your new cam performs or is this the original cam you had?

Old motor had 244/248 .612/.615 112+2 it ran 10.64 @ 128 1.61 60'. Built a new higher compression motor with 251/257 .623/.623 115+6 and ran a 10.96 @ 122 1.67 60'. Went from 2x.060 jets to 2x.073 jets and ran 10.80 @ 125 1.59 60'.
I put the smaller cam in this past weekend hopefully get to try it out Friday.
