Default Cure for piston slap?

Ok, does anyone know how to lessen the sound of cold start piston slap?

Thicker oil?

Merical in a can, kind of stuff?

Seafoam/top end engine cleaner?

I'm trying to sell this truck for good money, its gonna be a hard sell when it sounds like a rod is coming through the block for the first 30secs.

Warm up the truck before someone comes to look at it is my suggestion.......and don't make post like these incase someone wants to search your threads

And just asking are you really planning on selling a 02 RCSB W/ 140,000KM for $28k?

put the crack pipe down man, there's this blue book that someone named kelly wrote, you should check it out. oh, and just so you know, technically performance upgrades don't increase the value. but good luck
Oh yeah, do you mean $28k U.S. dollars?

this is a coverup move. anybody that knows anything about looking at a vehicle knows something is up if the vehicle is warm and has fresh clean oil in it

I read somewhere that mobil one, and lucas oil treatment helped some?

I really don't think I will get more than $22000 CDN for it, but the way I figure it, it would cost $35000-40000 or more to build again, and that doesn't includ the 100+ hours of labour i've put into it. I spent at least $8000 on the truck this year alone. (turbo, 4L80E, Tru trac, etc) If I don't sell it as a package I'm going to put the stock drivetrain back in, remove the turbo, and see if I can get $18000-20000, with it lowered and the SS wheels. Stock Reg cab Z71 are going for 16000 around here, and are very rare.

There is no cure, mechanically there is realy nothing wrong. Piston slap can be worse from alot of carbon build up on the pistons and ringlands. One thing you can do is perform a top engine clean to remove the carbon build up. My technicians would remove all the spark plugs, put the top engine cleaner direclty in the plug holes and let the vehicle sit overnight to break all the carbon down. If there is alot of carbon build up, this will dramatically reduce the pistong slap noise.
Check with someone that has done this before, maybe a local dealer before you do it or maybe have a shop do it.

Vehicle prices are at least 25% higher in Canada(we are getting ripped). So factor that in. $28K U.S. would only get you $27K CAD. $28000 CAD = $29104 US today.

$1.04 exchange rate sure beats the $0.63 us Canucks were getting a couple of years ago! I think I should find a deal on a new motor from the U.S. before our government decides to beat our dollar back down.
