Default Custom Turbos.... what do you need

i was wondering what all has to go into makeing a custom turbo kit. i know you will need a header of some sort, turbo, tubing. what else do you need? how are you mounting your wastegates. where are you getting your flanges to mont the turbo? any links or anything would be great. what turbo are you running and how many pounds of boost can it push? thanks

First look at the bank account. Then desided if you can tie up your truck for awhile, and put out 5K+. Then you need to pic a turbo(do not buy yet) that fits your application. You have to be realistic here, to big of one your dead in the water, to small you will not be happy. Then choose a waste gate, blowoff or bypass, (do not purchase yet). Find all other parts that are out on the market and or build your own. Like the flanges, you may need to do something special for mounting. The hoses and clamps are readily available on eday and other sources. Find what intercooler you are thinking of running( do not buy yet). Stainless tubing for the exhaust is a most. Deside on tuning software. Once you have that start spending money and have fun I am sure I left something out. It is a huge process but if you are willing go for it. Also give yourself alot of time shipping error and shipping timelines can just suck at times. I believe in if you can do it your self why pay someone else to do it.
Also its only money the government will make more.

Check out Turbocity.com they have a printable schematics for a basic generic turbo setup, trouble shooting and flanges. Turbocity is not a sponsor but they do not directly compete with any of the sponsors so that will stop the moderators from getting hurt vaginas.
