Default Damn G80

I don't know what I did boys but it sure as hell don't sound good when I take corners. For the past week every time I take a some what sharp right or left hand turn the rear end makes a really loud bang and drags the right rear tire. I pulled the right axel out tonight and everything looked fine but I have yet to take the cover off. I had thought that maybe the g80 was just not unlocking but I had both tires in the air and both were spinning in opposite directions like they should when the diff is unlocked. I find it hard to believe this thing is junk already, there are Dmax's running around with almost 1200lbs of tq and I havent seen of anyone breaking their g80 in the larger 3/4 ton rear ends. If this thing is toast what do you guys suggest for a replacement? I was thinking a power trax loc-rite. Thanks

Alex

I've got an Eaton Posi in my 10.5" 14-Bolt. It performs consistently and predictably every time I abuse it. They are not inexpensive but they must be engineered to perfection. I love the thing.

If you order online make sure you get the right one - there are two. One is for 4.10 gears and lower the other is for 4.56 and higher. Run only 80/90 non-synthetic gear lube in an Eaton Posi with 4 or 8 ounces of friction modifier depending on desired firmness.
