Default Damn Squeak!

on my truck, when im hit the brakes and the truck lunges forward, it makes a squeaking "ERRRRRK" sound, and I think its the body mounts for my truck. (Its not the brakes or anything)

Ive oiled the leaf springs and all the rear suspension components and it helps a little bit, but still does it. Everytime it lunges forward it makes that sound... Its been happening for about 3 months now, and its really annoying.

I hear it right under the back of the cab, it sounds like it right under the seat ..but towards the back.

Is it the body mounts or anything? Im getting really annoyed!!!

My truck is lowered with a belltech 2/3 kit, and I didnt replace any bushings or anything.

Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

Single cab? If so there are two straps at the back of the cab that attach to the frame. Remove the bolts, you should see shinny marks where it was rubbing, and lube the bolts with a thick silicone paste. It should shut it up for awhile. There are two 18mm bolts holding each straps. Post back if it works.

You can just try to remove the straps and drive it. See if it goes away, then you can lube them and reinstall.

i have the same noise along with the shackles, i cant really hear the shackles as much anymore, greased them, but i have always heard the other noise, took it in for warranty work once, they fixed it and it lasted a month or so, then came right back

so stupidfast, what kind of straps are they? when i get under there and move what it looks like brake cables? some round ones, it seems as if those are the culprits.. are those the straps your talking about

dont know who that was directed to, but i went unde there and where the two round cable are held on, some type of hangar like item, i just took it off and now i get just a slight noise, hardly hear it at all compared to what it was.. i'll find someway to hang those cables without those hangar wires

I had that happen to me a while back and it was one of the body mounts and a exhaust hanger bracket. Its doing it again now....maybe I'll have to check those out as well. But mine does it under braking as well now.

What the hell are those cables for anyway? When I did my body lift on my '99 reg-cab I just chunked those suckers in the trash. The ext-cab & crewcab trucks don't have them.
