Angry Damn wheel bearing went out!

Well thankfully it wasnt on my truck in the sig but it was my dads truck...but i work for him and i drive one of his company vehicles...its a 2003 1/2 ton z71...i work in the oilfield so the truck is on dirt roads all the time...it goes through hell especially when its muddy...ok heres the story...i was goin down the road and the ABS light came on...i didnt think much of it...then a little bit later the truck starts pullin to the right like a bitch...i was on a muddy road so i drove to a black top which was a 1/2 mile away...i figured it was a flat tire...i get out and the front right wheel is way out of alignment...and the brakes have smoke coming from them....when the bearing went out the tire got shifted and the break calliper scratched the hell out of the rim...there was metal shavings everywhere...oh yea and the rotors are shot now...so it needs a new wheel bearing, brake calliper, and rotor...man a wheel bearing shouldnt go out after only 40k miles...how much do wheel bearings cost? thanks...

Sorry to hear about the wheel bearing on the truck, we have put a couple of wheel bearings on a 2001 swb and one on a 2002 GMC reg cab, SWB had 20 ich rims, the GMC had I think 18 or 19's, both bearing we had to get on the dealer for the customers, both were about $320 our cost, plus 78.00 install. was the customers reaction, what is weird the 2002 was probably still under warranty, but the guys refused to get it fixed by any dealer saying they would probably say abuse
