my just went out,, but i think its cuz i held a powerwasher with soap to it to clean my engine compartment. i called flexalite, and emailed them a webpage for proof i got it less than a year ago, and they sent me one no questions asked. should be here this week

I'm going to try installing a microcontroller onto my truck in a couple of months, since it takes a long time to perfect the details of it. I plan on setting up a wireless transmitter (blue tooth), being able to poll for trouble codes and transmit that to a PC. I was also planning on having it run an electric fan setup with pulse width modulation, remote start the vehicle, and disable the daytime running lamps unless i turn them on. the beauty of a microcontroller is that it operates at 5V and almost no current. If anyone else is interested, I will probably get cracking on this in another month or so.

I have the 292 fans in transit.
I Wrote Flex-a-Lite about their VSC's bad reputation. After their reply I have decided to wait before going with the Delta VSC. One sign of trouble and I'll toss it for the Delta.

Since the start of this style control, we have had concerns. We have constantly up-dated them to the point that there are very few problems. We have been standing behind our products for many years. The fuse holder issue has been solved with a different vendor. The terminal issue had been repaired with a different soldering process. The battery drain problem has also been addressed, this was a very rare problem. Please remember that we have a one year warranty and if you have a concern you contact me.

I wrote Delta about a VSC for the 292's. The 2 differences are, when the AC comp kicks in the Delta kicks the fans on @ 50% vs. the Flex-a's @ 60%, and the temp probes are reversed, the Delta is near the rad lower hose where the Flex-a's are at the upper hose of the rad.
From Delta:

The FK-35 kit includes everything needed to replace the flex-a-lite vsc, including a 10 gauge wiring loom. I've enclosed the install sheet.

The kit came iwth 12awg though and is supposedly rated to 35 or 40A I think...
Should I change all my power wire to the batt to 10 awg? The fan wiring should be fine at 12awg as the fans draw about 12-14A each I think...
