DBW TB as a E-cutout?

a few things I think you might be missing:

1) DBW TB requires voltage for 0%TPS (closed)

2) Even if you make a heat shield, the hot exhaust you are running through it will kill it. (not designed to run exhaust through it)

3) After all is said and done, and you have purchased the misc supporting parts need to make it work....you might as well have purchased a E-Cut out.



I am not telling you what and what not to do, I am only trying to save you the frustration of trying to get something to work that wont.

Very true. At rest, the throttle return springs only close the throttle blade to about 90% closed or so. Without constant 5v in the ignition run position, you would have a slight exhaust leak all of the time...

BTW, BlownChevy, no feedback on the ported throttle body yet?

negative......Been fighting with LA County for the permit to install the damn thing. We moved it from our old shop to here. I will let you know when its done.
