Thanks Grip! See what you started?????
I'm just trying to give guys some more options to get around the plastic truck intakes. I have no earthly idea if this will practically work, however on paper it should make a great setup especially for FI applications. I doubt it will fit under the hood of a car, but it was originally designed for trucks anyways.
Here's to ya friend

Do it man. I can hook you up with a step by step up to the TB You should definitely do the ram air thing. The hood I bought would work great... you could just do a big sheet metal pan attached to a hood with a K&N in the snout of the scoop and some sealer around the TB... Man I wish I was closer to you. I'd make you the box lol.

Richard,
I was hoping you might share some insight on the quoted stuff below? I don't really understand it all.

what do you expect the benefit to be from having less volume in the intake? Better (faster) throttle response? I didn't measure the volume on mine... but it has been said elsewhere on the forums that the following intakes have these plenum volumes:
LS1 5.06 L
LS6 5.19 L
Truck 4.00L
Edelbrock Vic Jr ?????
What do you think?
On my install, I haven't noted any softer pedal feel... but I have what is probably a fairly soft combo anyway... 402, AFR225's, 3000 stall yank, HEAVY *** truck, turbo cam, etc. I know that elbow adds a lot of plenum volume!
