Default Denali Exhaust

Bought the wife a new 04 Denali last month and really like the sound of it's exhaust. The Denali has the LQ4 my truck has the LQ9, but the Denali sounds a he11 of a lot better then my VHO. Does that "fancy" exhaust tip on the Denali make that much difference in sound or does the Denali have a different type of muffler? Anybody have info on this?

I agree that the SUV Denalis do sound more throaty than my Sierra Denali. I don't know what the differences are but maybe the overall actual length of the system compared to an extended cab truck (like mine and your VHO) is what makes the sound difference? What color is the wifes Denali?

Does anyone know if the VHO has the same muffler and tailpipe as the SS?

I really thought the stock muffler tone on my SS was very good. I had more compliments with the stock muffler than I do now with the flopro.

I didn't even think about the Denali truck exhaust, never heard one run. But now that you say the SUV sounds different than the truck I am really curious, but suspect you are right that the lenght of the system is the difference. Didn't realize how long my VHO was until I was under it the other night and took a look at the driveshaft, really put it in perspective!

The wife's rig is black w/pewter leather. Traded in a white '01 Suburban, I am a bit **** when it comes vehicle cleanliness, hence white VHO, white Suburban, white '89 full size Jimmy (white kind of feels like cheating when detailing). Got tired of looking at white, but suspect will get tired of cleaning black.
