I wonder why only 4.3's would have the problem with the early DexCool. My friends 1996 C1500 pickup has the 4.3 and has major problems with the Dexcool and cooling system. But, his wife drives a 1996 Tahoe with the 5.7 and it's okay.

Maybe this is the product for those concerned about the use of Dexcool.
That sounds like good stuff...best of both worlds, maybe?

I thought burping was to eliminate overheating due to air pockets.

So...only 4.3s affected?????

I have heard nothing bad about Dex cool, but I have heard it is the only thing we can run, so I'm staying with it.
Hey now, if a ricer wants to buy the crap, then I'll sell it to 'em(I work at Advance). We don't get to pick and choose what we offer to the customer, if we did it would certainly not be wings, etc. We also sell cool stuff like superchargers, nitrous, alum heads, blah blah. While some parts folk are ignorant, all in fact are not. If anyone has trouble with any car or truck, let me know and I will try to help!

Not exactly...

The 4.3 in the S-10's was the *most* affected because of the way the radiator filler neck was designed. It provoked contamination. If DexCool becomes contaminated it's just a matter of time..

The 4.3 in full size OBS trucks had no more likelihood of having a problem with DexCool than the 5.7. By the time the NBS trucks were designed GM caught on to DexCool's evil secrets.
